| ROTC |

LSC-Kingwood will offer ROTC courses taught by University of Houston (UH) Military Science faculty members during fall 2009. The courses taught on the LSC-Kingwood campus, are offered through an agreement between LSC-Kingwood and the UH Main Campus. There are no prerequisites and students incur no military commitment.
Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Steve Lopez and Sergeant Major (SGM) Timothy McGregor will teach the Military Science transfer courses and each has had a long military career.
According to SGM McGregor the program develops competent and confident leaders. "Because we focus on leadership, a student can discover what they have within themselves and their ability to lead; even if a student takes the class and decides they don't want to do this as a career, they are all the better for having taken the class for the life-long skills they will acquire."
Register today by calling 281-312-6625. |

| FAST TRACK MATH |

Maximize your time with fast-track algebra at LSC-Kingwood. For college students who find math intimidating, LSC-Kingwood has a quick and painless way to satisfy those core requirements. Students can complete two math classes, intermediate algebra and college algebra, in just one semester.
These fast-track classes will be offered during the fall 2009 and spring 2010 semesters. Intermediate algebra is taken the first 8-weeks and college algebra the second 8-weeks.
Professor Mari Peddycoart, who will teach both classes says, "This is great for those students who are almost ready for college algebra but must take intermediate algebra due to placement testing."
As an added bonus, students use the same book for both classes. The classes will meet Mon.-Thur. from 1:30-2:50 p.m. for both courses.
For more information contact Mari Peddycoart at 281-312-1475.
