| Course Description |
This is an individualized laboratory course designed to review the 10 mathematical skills that are covered on the TASP exam. Included are topics covered in prealgebra (fundamental mathematics), basic algebra and geometry. Instruction focuses on individual needs. This course carries institutional credit but will not transfer and will not be used to meet degree requirements, nor is at an alternative for the MATH 0306 Prealgebra Mathematics, MATH 0308 Introductory Algebra or MATH 0310 Intermediate Algebra. |

| Learning Outcomes |
Perform basic algebraic operations with integers, fractions, decimal numbers and percents and solve applied problems using these types of numbers. Simplify and evaluate expressions involving integer exponents. Convert numbers between standard and scientific notation and use scientific notation to estimate answers. Perform basic operations on and factor polynomials. Solve linear and quadratic equations and linear inequalities in one variable and solve applied problems using these techniques. Perform operations on algebraic fractions and solve applied problems involving these fractions. Plot points on the Cartesian coordinate system and sketch the graphs of equations by plotting points. Sketch graphs of linear and quadratic equations and linear inequalities in two variables. Solve systems of linear equations and solve applied problems modeled by such systems. Identify various planar and spatial figures including triangles (including right triangles), angles, polygons, circles, spheres, prisms, pyramids & cones, state their special properties & find perimeters, circumferences, areas, surface areas & volumes. Identify, write correspondences for and solve applied problems involving congruent and similar triangles. |
