What are the admissions requirements for our Respiratory Therapy department?

In addition to the College admissions requirements the following are required for the Respiratory Care Associate degree program.

  1. Complete and submit an application to the respiratory care program.


  2. Eligibility to enter ENGL 1301 and MATH 0310.


  3. Verification of graduation from an accredited high school (official transcript required) - OR - verification of completion of the General Education Development Test, G.E.D.


  4. If you have attended another college(s), other than our college, please furnish this office with an official transcript from that college(s).


  5. Minimum age of eighteen (18) years of age at program completion.


  6. Attendance at the scheduled ORIENTATION SESSION.


  7. A statement of satisfactory health from a licensed physician including designated laboratory test & immunization records. This form will be provided at the orientation session.


  8. Student application must be completed by September 15 to be considered for the January program.

Admission is limited to twenty – four (24) students. Students are ranked & selected on the following criteria by the Admissions Committee.

  • Completion of all general academic courses for the Respiratory Care Program

  • Completion of 9 semester hours including BIOL 2401 & any college level math

  • GPA

  • Date of admission
